APCA BAND NIGHT success
APCA Band Night - 16th December 2010
We had a night of great music at one of London's best live music venues, The Brixton Windmill and raised over £700 for APCA UK.
Hot on the heels of their third album, The Barker Band (www.barkerband.com) played some of the finest country-rock to have emanated from these shores.
Throw into the mix a touch of folk magic courtesy of Troubadour Rose (www.myspace.com/troubadourrose) and some infectious ska from Popes of Chillitown (www.myspace.com/popesofchillitown) and we had a fabulous Christmas party!
We raffled some amazing prizes on the night including:
A big thanks to the venue, prize donors and bands which donated their energy, skill and gifts free of charge so every penny raised from ticket sales supported APCA's work and will help improve the lives of people living with terminal illnesses in Africa.
Take part in a FREE Skydive!!!
Why not experience the exhilarating rush of leaping out of a plane thousands of feet above the ground and raise money for a good cause at the same time? You can do the skydive at locations all over the country - and best of all its absolutely free!!! All we ask is that you set yourself a target of raising £395 in sponsorship.
Interested? Call 020 7401 9923 and let us know what date you had in mind to do the skydive. We'll take care of the rest!
If you're passionate about improving care for people with terminal illnesses in Africa, but don't fancy leaping out of a plane this could be the event for you! Hold a dinner party and invite friends/ family/ colleagues via the Dinner for Good website (http://www.dinner4good.com/APCA). Here you can customise email invites and send them out to all your potential guests. Guests can then accept your invite by return email and make a secure online donation to APCA at the same time. This way you avoid the awkward ‘ask' on the day of the dinner itself leaving you free to enjoy the party. A great way to have fun and support APCA at the same time.
Do you shop online? If so you can raise money for APCA everytime you make a purchase - and it wont cost you a penny more! Simply set up an account with the Giving Machine at www.thegivingmachine.co.uk. Then every time you want to shop online do so via your Giving Machine account where you will find a huge range of on-line retailers just waiting to donate to APCA! These include Next, Argos, B&Q, Tesco and many more.

A huge thank you to all 12 runners who took part in the Run to the Beat half-marathon! Despite the weather this event was a great success. One of our runners, Gavin Murrison, got an incredible time of 1h:26m putting him in the top 100 finishers! Many congratulations to Gavin and all the APCA runners for their hard work, both training and raising valuable funds to support our work.
39 walkers took part in APCA UK's first ever fundraising event on 15th May. Huge thanks to all our dedicated supporters and their sponsors who have helped to raise £21,000 to transform the lives of terminally ill people in Africa. An incredible achievement!
